Today was brought to you by the letter "S"

Sunshine and swinging, scholastics and singing - today had all of the makings of a movie; perhaps The Sound of Music, Part Two?...minus five extra kids and millions of dollars, and there's also the fact that my husband is a plumber not a Naval officer, and I am certainly no ex-Catholic nun with a killer voice, and there are no mountains (much less the Swiss Alps) out here in western Oklahoma; but besides all that it could have worked.

Anywho, the weather was gorgeous today; and after Jack did a few workbook lessons (what? doesn't everyone do their school work shirtless?)

and Beau attempted to water paint (I promise my kids own clothes), I packed a picnic lunch and the three of us headed to Red Rock Canyon State Park which is located only a couple of minutes away from our house.
(See, I told you it was Sound of Music-y...despite the fact we were below sea level in a canyon rather than miles above it in the Alps.)

I took far too many photos. So here they are in slide show format:

and, as previously stated, there was singing (don't worry - it's not by me).

Have a great weekend everyone!

It looks like you had a great day! The weather here has been gorgeous too, I may have to steal your picnic idea!

What a great idea! I will have to picnic with Day before it gets too cold! You should be so proud of Jack's singing. That video is priceless! I am also very impressed with Beau's watercolor.

Today was a beautiful day to be outside; it was a bit windy in our part of the state but still very nice.

Amy - It was windy here too; but down in the canyon, wind is not a problem.

Devin - you should go on a picnic, if for no other reason than I want to see the pictures you take of your girls : )

Shawna - when you and Day decide to go, give us a call...we'd be happy to go again.
