Let the festivities begin (a weekend recap)

This weekend was a whirlwind of activities. From entertaining and overeating to decorating and shopping, it seems like I packed as much as humanly possible into the past few days. Needless to say I am exhausted. I am about to down my second Pepsi of the day (yes, I realize it is only 9:30 in the morning - but I just don't do coffee) and start the holiday cooking and cleaning...wahoo!(rolling eyes)

I am almost done decorating the house for Christmas. I realize it is slightly early but the boys were at school until 2:45 Thursday, and I may never get another chance like that again.
Plus, on top of that, I am done Christmas shopping for the boys (spoiled brats)!!! I HATE, and I do mean HATE, shopping after Thanksgiving - the crowds, the lines, the disheveled shoppers - it seriously puts me in a bah-humbug mood. Saturday night we had our second Thanksgiving dinner over at Josh's aunt and uncle's house (our first was last weekend at Church - needless to say, it is past time to put away the scales).

And Sunday my crazy brother and his wife came over for a little visit. They are in from New York and staying with her family, so it was so nice to see them, if only for a few hours. While they were here, they presented Jack with some early birthday presents. If you have boys and they are over the age of 3, Geo Trax are the best! It keeps Jack entertained for hours. He absolutely loved his new airplanes toys to go along with the rest of his set. And Beau, well, he simply liked opening Jack's gifts.

Okay, the last little bit was supposed to read "Can't wait to see you all in December"; not "Can't wait to see you al" - I don't know who "al" is, but I am too lazy and busy to go back and fix it. You get the gist though.

Your house looks beautiful! I can't wait to finish my holiday decorating. I haven't even bought a single gift for the girls. How sad is that?

Your house is so gorgeous! I'm so jealous. We're in temp housing since we moved out of state and are awaiting the sale of our house (which may be never in this economy). All of my Christmas stuff is in storage! :( I won't really have anything to decorate with. But I can live vicariously though all of you awesome creative bloggers! :)

Thanks everyone. As you can see, I am somewhat over zealous when it comes to decorating for Christmas. I LOVE the holidays (esp. if my shopping is done before Thanksgiving - lol). Heidi, I actually made those stockings myself. I was never able to find any that really jumped out at me, so I took matters in to my own hands. I was somewhat of a rookie sewer at the time, so they could definitely be improved upon - but they serve their purpose. : )

Wow, your decorations are nice! Come do my house next, ok? ;)

And I hear ya about not doing coffee; I don't drink the stuff either, but would not make it through some days without my beloved caffeine. And I've been known to chug done a few cups before 9:30am when I'm really having a tough time getting going. lol

You made those!!! Wow, impressive! They are even more beautiful now that I know you made them. I cannot sew, I'm only crafty with double sided tape or that stitchy witchy stuff!
