Tag, I'm it...again

Unlike the last time I was tagged, I actually want to do this post. Daniele over at Life as a MOM tagged me and so now I get to talk about my wonderful hubby in an attempt to help you all get to know him a little better.

So, introducing Josh (aka: Funk) and his likes (in no particular order) according to me:
The boys - Josh is one of the most devoted and loving fathers and I don't think there isn't anything he wouldn't do for his kiddos.

The Chicago Cubs - the man loves baseball and is obviously a sucker for disappointment. No matter how many times those Cubbies break his heart, year after year he keeps the dream of a national championship alive.

OU sports - luckily, my Bulldogs and his Sooners have not had to play each other yet; if that ever happens, it will be a very black day in our household.

Louisiana Hot Sauce - the man puts this stuff on anything and everything that is to cross his pallet .
My cooking - Although my cooking was not the reason he married me (that's another story for another time) he now claims to love my cooking; however, he still doctors all of it up with the aforementioned condiment.

* (no pic for this next one but I will try and post the recipe soon)*

His mama's Sex in a Pan - aka: Texan Dessert. This is Josh's one request for every one of his birthdays and coincidentally the one food he doesn't doctor up with Louisiana Hot Sauce. We all prefer the name "Sex in a Pan" but try real hard to call it Texan Dessert around the kiddos because when Josh was a little boy, he one time yelled out in church "Hey, Grandma, are we having Sex for lunch today?"
Scuba diving - when we went to Hawaii for our honeymoon, we did a lot of snorkeling and he fell in love with the creatures and sights below the water's surface; therefore, the next time we went to Hawaii, he took his divers test and got his certification.
Books, book and more books - Josh loves to read anything and everything and because of that he is a man full of useless knowledge.

Spider-Man - from comics and art to cartoons and movies [yeah, he's a geek - but I love him (lol)]

Lariat Creek Christian Camp - Josh feels he is where he is today, because of this camp
His fraternity brothers - despite having graduated seven and a half years ago, there isn't anything he wouldn't do for those guys.

Fishin' - 'nuf said.

And me - that is, when I am not driving him crazy or nagging him to death : )

All of these things - and more importantly his love for Christ and the church, his compassionate heart, his willingness to lend a hand to all those in need, his unwavering devotion to his family - and many others, make up the man I love and cherish and have devoted the rest of my life to. I couldn't have asked for or dreamed of a more perfect partner.

Although he is most definitely my polar opposite, we compliment each other in every way imaginable. Where I am high maintenance (or as he likes to call it - constant maintenance) he is laid back and easy going. Where he is disheveled, I am OCD. The list goes on, as does our love for one another. Just as he was my breath of fresh air 10 years ago, he continues to be that today. He truly is my bestest friend and I can't thank God enough for putting such a remarkable man in my life.

Now, as for tagging others to post about their hubbies...apparently there are no rules to this tag: no set number of likes to list, no set number of people to tag - in fact, I don't even think it is required for you to complete this task even if you are tagged. So having said that, I tag all of you because I want you all to be able to share some things about the loves of your lives, if so inclined.

Awe, this was really sweet. I am glad to learn that my 3 year old and your husband share a love for Spiderman! I also share his love LCCC. I hope one day my kids (or presently just kid, singular) can go there, although it would be a long long trip just to get there!

Thanks for sharing a bit of Funk with us!

Okay, first off, I know you have sitemeter and you are gonna see I've been to your page like 80 times today. I've had computer issues, so trust me, I'm not stalking you! LOL

This post was so sweet!! I enjoyed it very much, and am so happy that you are so happy together. It's hard to believe we're all grown up now with kids of our own when I still have memories of when we were little kids! You are such a beautiful couple...

You totally cracked me up with the Funk thing...lol :)

Oooohhh Melinda, I tried so hard to stay away from the political stuff, but I couldn't help it. I'm just seriously heartbroken. I thought I'd warn you about the post so you could avoid it if you wanted...

I love your story, it is so much fun sharing about your husband, we don't always get to brag on them. I love your wedding picture! You two make a beautiful couple.

Thanks everyone! I love being able to brag on my man. It seems like more often than not I get so caught up in day-to-day life that I forget to tell him what a wonderful man he is and how much I appreciate and respect him.

Anyway, Amanda - we live sooooo close to LCCC so when your kiddo is old enough, you guys can take a vacation out here and stay with us while he and Jack go off to camp.

Stacey - I do not think you are a stalker. I rarely even check that sitemeter thingy. It is more for safety precautions more than anything else. BTW, I am still waiting on your political post...

Daniele, thank you again for tagging me for this post. It was really fun and Josh really enjoyed it too.

I loved reading your post. I never knew Josh that well, but I always knew he was a great, down to earth guy. You both seem to complement each other very well! I love the wedding pic. You look beautiful!

No need to tag yourself...I tagged everyone - if they wanted to do it : ) (I doubt that's "legal" but I did it anyway...I'm such a rebel)
