An interview with a four-year-old

For the past week or two I have seen the following interview done by women all over the blogosphere...of course, they were interviewing children slightly older than mine. However, I decided to give it a shot with Jack, my four-year-old, just to see what answers he could/would come up with. Who knows, maybe I will turn this into an annual thing just to see how different his answers would be this time next year.

If you too would like to conduct this interview with your own child, simply copy and paste the following text and then ask away!

1. What is something mama always says to you? “That you’re the boss.”

2. What makes mama happy? “If I kiss you”

3. What makes mama sad? “When I get in trouble”

4. How does your mama make you laugh? “When you say something funny”

5. What was your mama like as a child? “I don’t know”

6. How old is your mama? “10” - I hope he always thinks I’m 20 years younger than I actually am! : )

7. How tall is your mama? “33 -tall” - yeah, he doesn’t get the whole measurement concept quite yet

8. What is her favorite thing to do? “Work.” Where do I work? “In the house”

9. What does your mama do when you're not around? “Work in the house”

10. If your mama becomes famous, what will it be for? - this was way too over his head

11. What is your mama really good at? “Doin’ on the ‘pooter” - that’s computer for those of you who don’t quite understand the speech of a four-year-old : )

12. What is your mama not very good at? “Not working” - I think I am starting to see a theme here

13. What does your mama do for a job? “You work outside in the garden”

14.What is your mama's favorite food? “Chicken” - I probably would have said cookies, but chicken in close enough

15.What makes your mama proud of you? “When I’m being good at school”

16. If your mama were a cartoon character, who would she be? “Minnie Mouse”

17. What do you and your mama do together? "Play”

18. How are you and your mama the same? “I’m not the same…but I’m growing bigger”

19. How are you and your mama different? "The way we grow”

20. How do you know your mama loves you? "When you hug me”

21. What does your mama like most about your daddy? "When you kiss him…we’re just a happy family” - I don't know where he gets this stuff

22. Where is your mama's favorite place to go? "I like to go to Disney World…do you like to go to Disney World?”

I'd forgotten about these! I have some interviews with Michael saved on my computer for 3 years straight and haven't quizzed Jacob yet. Gonna have to do that.
I'm wondering if you are telling the truth on #11. What if he didn't really mean the "COM"puter. :)

That is seriously the cutest thing I've read in a long time. Clearly you are doing something right that he's busting out with happy family answers. That rocks.

That's great! I can't wait until baby Brooklyn can talk...or can I? I teach first grade, I could write a book of hilarious things kids say. I hope this is still circulating in a few years ;)
