Better late than never

So, yesterday Beau had his 18 month check-up despite his being almost 20 months old. Yes, I am a failure…no need to rub it in. I have a good excuse: Beau has been to the doctor so many times in the past few months for ear infections that I just didn’t even think about scheduling a well-check appointment.

Oh well, we got it done and I guess that’s what counts. Arts Festival April 21 09 057 He weighs 27.25 pounds which puts him in the 60th percentile…a big jump from his last check-up that I believe put him in the 45th percentile.

He measures 33 1/2 inches long which puts him in the 70th percentile…a HUGE jump from his 45th percentile last time.

He unfortunately still has fluid in his ears which means he will have to have tubes put in. We have a consultation with the ear, nose, and throat doctor next Thursday and will go from there.

He is also possibly suffering from allergies which is totally weird since none of the rest of us have any; but his doctor gave him a prescription for that as well. So hopefully I won’t have to wipe any more lime green snot from his face and nose. (What? – a mother can dream, can’t she?)

No worries, all will be good and tubes are the best thing in the world. But that is just my opinion and Eli's one too many ear infections in his four years. Allergies always hit the boys twice a year, but Zrytec works wonders.

You know what makes wipping noses more fun?? Buy the boogie wipes! They come in different scents...kids love them and I love them too! I got mine at Babies R Us.

Happy 20 months to Beau!

I didn't make Braden's well child 5 year old appointment until the day before his birthday. It totally slipped my mind, who goes to the doctor when they are well!
Mason is having another set of tubes put in on May 1. He got his first set at 9 months old. Who is your ENT?

Mandy - we are going to use Dr. Metcalf at Mercy. Do you know anything about him? He was recommended by the boys' pediatrician. Who did you guys use?

Beau is growing so fast. He is the most pleasant easy going baby I have been around. Sorry to hear about the tubes and the allergies, He's cute, and has a great personality, I guess you can't win em all!

We had Metcalf with Lillian's first set of tubes. I didn't care for him. We used Gilchrist for Lillian's second set of tubes, adenoids (sp?), and tonsils and then again for Lucas' tubes last fall. He is highly regarded as one of the best in OK.

Tubes are a wonderful thing for parents and kids!

Ahhh - tubes. What fun! And right before pool weather.
Hopefully the allergy med will work. Did it make him cranky?

I've got you beat on the bad mommy award...Chase turned 2 in January and he still hasn't had his 2 year checkup. Yep... :) Course, now I'm not sure how I feel about vaccines, so I really don't mind putting it off a bit longer...

But that's another convo for another time lol. I'm so sorry about him having to get tubes. I chatted a bit with Roberta last night at church and she told us that he was needing them. Poor lil guy...
