So far, the best thing about having my first real photography gig is all of the encouragement I have received from not only my blogging buddies (thanks, by the way, from the bottom of my heart) but also the encouragement and infectious excitement displayed by my wonderful hubby. Of course, I can’t be sure if he is seeing dollar signs at the end of the tunnel or if he actually believes in my photography that much (lol); but either way I’ll take it, because this man has gone beyond the call of duty by not only talking me up to people everywhere, but he has also gone as far as purchasing me a few new toys…
Yeah!!! Wahoo!!! Aaaaaahhhhhhh!!!
Okay, SERIOUSLY?!!?! I wonder what this is going to cost me (lol)? Oh who cares…I am now doing cartwheels down the hallway!! In fact, I think I might have just pulled something. Do I have the best hubby EVER or what?!?!
And now…. I’m off to figure out how to use these babies; because that last one looks and feels a tad bit intimidating. Wish me luck : )

I wish you a loads of luck with them. The 50mm 1.8 is just so great. I got it a while back and it rocks! Seriously, it's fabulous.
I want to have such a genorous husband as well. I'm looking forward to see some pictures with those new babies!
WOW! Your husband rocks. As a amateur, I want to move up from my lens kit. What is that first lens? Looks like something I might need to move up to. Can't wait to see your new pics.
Good luck!! I just got my new SLR in the mail!! It's exciting getting new toys.
Lucky you! The nifty fifty is indispensible (I have the sony version), and by the looks of it, the other piece of glass is some serious business!
Your so lucky! I would just like to get a new camera. I'm tired of my point and shoot. I'm jealous.
Oh wow, how wonderful is that. I am soooo happy for you. I can not wait to see some new pictures. Your hubby rocks...
What a fabulous hubby! And is that a 70-200mm f/2.8? Such great gifts!
I have that first lens. It's a must have and so reasonably priced!!!
I have no clue about the second honking-dog you got showing there! LOL!
I'm very excited for you!!! Good luck with this endeavor!
I love the 50mm, and, holy cow...what is that second one? All I know is that whatever it is, I want the (superior) Canon version of it! ;)
yay! congrats on your first 'gig' and your new goodies...my husband would be the one doing cartwheels if he thought I was going to get paid for my photography obsession...oh I mean hobby :)
I love my 50 mm 1.8 and is that the 24-70mm f/2.8 nikon version below? Have Fun playing!!!
Jess
I am impressed with everyone's knowledge (except Andrea's... of course that could just be lack of common sense, because EVERYONE knows Nikon is better - lol). But yes, that second lens is the Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8 Vr lens!! Now, would anyone like to come and show me how to use it?
Wowzer. This is GREAT news. I am very excited for you!!
I really need to take a photog class...I can barely use a point and shoot!
I am so happy that your biz is taking off-that is so cool-and you do take awesome pix!
Georgie - although I appreciate your encouragement and your compliment, I don't think I'd quite call it a "biz" yet...more or less, it is just a flukey thing that this couple wanted me to photograph their wedding : )
Awesome!
Way to go Josh!!! That is flat out amazingly wonderful of him!!! Have a great time using them!!! :)
I have camera envy ;)
Oh my gosh Melinda. You impress me to bits! My husband wouldn't know what to buy if he was in the mood to buy me a lense : ) But you know what, I also would not know what to buy. I know you are going to do the most fantastic job on the wedding. I have been praying for you already.
Yippy! You have an AWESOME husband, he needs to give mine some pointers!! I can't wait to see the pics!! YOu are going to do an amazing job!!!! Sending lots of prayers and good weather your way!!
Aw, what a great hubby & very nice of you to thank him this way. Look at all these comments- you go girl! I tried to post the other day on your relay post, but I had a problem. Anyway, looks like it went well, very nice pix. I just found out today that our relay made over $100,000- woo hoo!
$100,000!!! That is amazing, Kristin!!!! Our small town came no where near that but we did break last year's record!!
I'm feeling a little intimidated. Just a point and shoot girl. :)
Great new lenses, have fun with those! And, thanks for all the sweet comments you leave on my blog :)
oh yes, your husband scored big time. I mean, you did. I mean... you know what I mean.
WOW - what a great addition to your photog gear! I am totally jealous of the first one - can't wait to see your faces with it!
Have a great weekend!
