Every year here in Hinton, Main Street is blocked off, school is let out, and many of the kids in town dress-up and parade down the street while parents, grandparents and all those who chose not to dress-up cheer them on from the sidewalks.
I have to admit that at first I thought this whole parade tradition was a little bit cheesy but now I will happily admit that it is one of my favorite things about living in a small town. I absolutely love that the pride of this town rests within the younger generation and that everything out here remains family centered.
This year Nana Robin came up with the brilliant idea that Jack and Brynnley should show off their USA Olympic pride by dressing as a gymnast and the notorious Michael Phelps, respectively. And, for the first year ever, they won their age division and were each awarded eight tickets to be used at the fair! Even though we (the parents and grandparents) were so proud, Brynnley and Jack were not so amused.

That is SO cute! What a great idea. I miss the Hinton fair parade. It was always so fun to get out of school early to be in the parade. The joys of living in Hinton!
