Recovering from cardiac arrest

Holy cow! I almost had a heart attack last night when my laptop shut down and would no longer charge. It is my only functioning computer right now and I am afraid I would go insane without it. It was such a huge ordeal that I got the boys dressed early this morning and drove an hour to the nearest Best Buy to visit with the Geek Squad.

Almost in tears and on the verge of hyperventilating, I begged the geek (hey, that's what they have dubbed themselves) behind the counter to please fix my computer right then and there. I was so terrified that he would tell me he would have to keep it for a few weeks to run diagnostic tests on it - I would miss Flashback Friday and the Cookie Swap and on top of that I couldn't finish ordering birthday supplies and Christmas gifts and...I'm pretty sure I was going to lose it.

Then said geek simply switched out my power supply cord and sent me on my pathetic way.

Whew, that was a close one!

Okay, first of all, your headline...SO NOT NICE! I was panicked over here! But then when I read the blog, I was almost tearing up for you knowing how terrified you must have felt!!!

The thought of being without my laptop makes me twitch. And yelp. Like Tourettes Syndrome. I'm so glad you (and your electronic buddy) are back to normal heartrates and functioning level. ;)

Oh that's funny...and I SO relate! Last week, our PC wasn't working and I practically went into panic mode, thinking of all the unopened emails waiting for my out there in cyberspace...all the funny blogs that I couldn't access...all the advertisements for Viagra and Penis Enlargements that would linger in my junk mail...lol

Luckily my hubby is a big computer geek so he was able to talk me through the problem at work! (I'm sure he LOVED my panic-stricken phone call.

"I need your help, honey!!"

"What's wrong? Is it the kids?"

"No, worse. Its the computer!!!"

(I didn't actually SAY that but I was kind of thinking it. I am such a bad mommy.)

What is it with that cord? I've had to replace mine twice. Drives me crazy. I'm glad it wasn't worse for you.

This is not the time of year to be without a computer! I'm so glad it was nothing. I'm not sure what we would do right now if we went offline. It would be bad, and probably no one would get Christmas presents.

That just happened to me about a month ago, so I know how scary that is! It's sad how much I've come to depend on my laptop, LOL!

Thanks for the cool award, I love it! :)

Don't tell me I am going to have problems with my laptop (I told Doug to get me one for Christmas, picked it out and showed him last night). I hate not being mobile and stuck in the office trying to do stuff when the house is being destroyed by the boys. Glad it was only something minor.
