i heart faces - kids (week 2)

This is the second week of the i heart faces contest and again the theme is "anything goes". I am still completely intimidated but having a great time meeting new people and learning a thing or two about photography.

One thing I learned from last week's competition is that I really need to get Photoshop. I am not saying that people submitting photos on this thing aren't talented (because believe me THEY ARE) but I am so jealous of all of the cool things they are able to do with their already wonderful photos.

Oh well, I'll just stick with what I have. Besides, I am having a great time using this fun site with or without Photoshop. You all should really join in the fun!

Photobucket

To see some really fantastic photos, or to join the contest, head on over to i heart faces.

I agree on the Photoshop thing! No matter what, you need a good, clear, well-composed picture, but WOW...the improvement you can make are astounding. Right now, I just have Elements which really does do quite a bit for a lower price. Since I'm a teacher, I can get the full version for a much lower price. I don't think I can resist getting buying it much longer. :)

I love your photo! It is fun, has a really neat perspective and has no need for Photoshop. Great job!

Yikes! This teacher needs to edit before posting! :) My typos are glaring at me!

I am a huge fan of Photoshop, but I have to say that your photo is amazing...even without Photoshop! I love the angle, the exposure is wonderful and the colors are so vibrant. Fantastic!

That's adorable! I agree, I will never win, but I hope to learn a lot. I highly recommend Picasa, which is free and SO easy to use. If you go to picasa.com, it's pretty straight forward. Good luck!

I use Elements. It's all I need right now. Powerful enough itself. I love the pic you chose and am definitely checking in to this I heart faces thing. So fun!!!

I'll put in another plug for Elements....and Lightroom. I have the full Photoshop now, but rarely use it on my standard photos. I do 95% of editing in Lighroom.

That said, I love this candid shot. Pure childhood joy!

I love the real life captures! This one is frame worthy imho. :)

I like this photo too! I bought Photoshop this past summer, but I just got my DSLR about two months. I still have not found the time to learn how to use either one...

Maybe someday!

Great shot! I love the joy you've captured in his face. I have Photoshop, but only use it (most of the time) for minor adjustments!

Oh what a perfect picture! LOVE It!

Great photo!

Before reading the text, I thought that maybe the photo WAS photoshopped. It has such a unique perspective/angle. Great job!

I'd love to have PhotoShop as well..

This pic is awesome! With or without photoshop you still have to have an eye for a good pic and you have that! Post processing photos can always improve them but you still have to have the talent which I am telling you you've got! Keep going!

What an adorable picture. I am still thinking about getting Photoshop but for now I just you the editing software that came with my camera.

Cute picture! I'm loving I Heart Faces!

Camryn's picture made it to the collage on the first page where they are showcasing eyes! I was so excited.

Photoshop Elements is a GREAT program. You really don't need anything else.

But, if you are wanting something for free try Gimp.org or picnik.com. They are both great for photo-editing! :)

that's a wonderful shot and great composition! I almost didn't enter last week because of the intimidation factor.

And I don't use photoshop, but rather photoshop elements and really it does everything I need it to and is a lot cheaper.

good luck this week!

I like your picture a lot : ). Your baby is adorable! It is clear that everyone that wins does indeed use photoshop or photoshop elements, but it's a fun thing to do wether you win or not, right? Good luck! Maybe they should do a picture contest for unedited pictures!

Ithink pshop is for RAW photos, not jpegs. Unless you're adding art, just use picasa for good basic editing. I didn't think the pshop thing was that obvious last week. Yours here is just as good as the best of last week.

Photoshop or not, this image was totally one of my favorites from this week!! I love the colors, the sun flare, the netting, the composition. Really, truly? There's not much that Photoshop would do to improve upon this shot. It's great SOOC.

Susan
