And so it begins…

…the journey down the “Road to a better me".

If you are clueless as to what I am talking about, check out this previous post. But in a nutshell, I have decided to rid myself of some major blogger butt by getting more active and cutting out some non-necessities.

I woke up this morning at 5:15 and was still too late in getting up to fix the hubby some coffee. Needless to say, I may have to rethink that little resolution…I am not a morning person.

Regardless, I went ahead as scheduled and decided to do a light and fun workout today and got out the Wii Fit. I did 20 minutes of aerobic exercise and 12 minutes of yoga. I would have done more but Jack had a dentist appointment today at a place a little over an hour away.

My biggest struggle in day one has to be the absence of my beloved Pepsi. I am feeling the lack of caffeine and the already opened 2 liter sitting on my kitchen counter is constantly screaming at me to give in…but I haven’t…not yet anyway.

Jack has also not helped matters by begging and pleading for the Krispy Kreme doughnuts we passed along the way this morning. I almost caved (man, do I love me some Krispy Kreme!) but again, I held steadfast - breaking a little boys heart in the process (note to self: don’t ever pass another Kripsy Kreme again – EVER!!).

So for those of you who have decided to join me on this journey, how have you done today? If you haven’t started yet, get to it!! There are still hours left in this first day and you really don’t want to be behind already do you? (This is me encouraging you, by the way : )

Ohhh boy. I sooo need to join you on this, but I just cannot give up my cokes. Although I might start walking with my mom when I get back to OK on Saturday. She does usually 2 miles a day and that wouldn't hurt me...I don't think ;)

*sigh* I know I need to get off my behind and do it...Kudos to you...

I have been making plans, seriously, and then I got sick. I have done nothing today except go to the doctor, Sams, and SIT.

Way to go on forgoing your Pepsi and Krispy Kreme!

I don't eat donuts anymore and I drink diet coke. I did the southbeach diet a few years ago and switched over.
I am also going to start working out. It's been a while Good luck!! I will be keeping track of how you are doing.

Wow you have some will power. I used to walk everyday, but I have been a total slacker since Christmas.

Keep going!! I gave up Pop the 1st of the year and the 1st week is the hardest...Every time you THINK you need a pop...grab a water...put things into it like lemon, oranges, cucumbers...sounds crazy but it helps....I will keep checking in on you...I need to get back on the wagon too!!!

You've inspired me to break out the Wii Fit again!!
I was at the gym this a.m. for my exercise class. Every Mon/Thurs. The only time I go to the gym and it's because I prepay the class!!
I can't believe you got up at 5:15. I'm certain there will never come a day that I will agree to that!

last week i did so good at getting up & going to the gym. this week - i've slept in. the time change has messed me up! ha

I need to join you in this one! My thyroid is all crazy right now and I couldn't lose weight if I tried - but if I got back into healthy habits, when my thyroid is back under control, I'd start losing right away. I'm going to try. I'm making no promises. But I do want a healthier lifestyle.
