i heart faces – week 9 (kids)

This week’s theme over at i heart faces is “Creative Crop” and we are allowed to post two pictures this week: one of our SOOC (straight out of the camera) shot and one of our cropped version.

The SOOC shot wasn’t bad, a little blah and off center, plus his left hand was a little blurry. I did however like that it showed that Jack was playing in the snow.New York 2 059 But what I really wanted was to get a close-up of Jack’s face yet not omit the snow completely. So here is what I cropped it down to.New York 2 059 copy ps final 5 x 7 boost lighten To see more “Creatively Cropped” photos or to join in yourself, head on over to i heart faces.

It's amazing how much this totally changes the picture. The colors are much more vibrant. The tight crop on the face seems to brighten up his expression. Definitely a creative and effective crop!

Great crop! I never would have guessed that gorgeous picture came from the first one. Like you said, it's not bad - just a little blah. But your cropped one is just beautiful! :-) I miss the snow - although i'm not missing it right now cause I'm in Puerto Rico! haha

I love your little man's eyes.
They look like he wanted to say: "Isn't snow wonderful?"

You showed that cropping is a little bit of magic
