Donations welcome

As some of you already know, I will be walking again this year in the American Cancer Society Relay For Life here in small town America in July; in fact, I have been dubbed our team captain this year!! Needless to say it has been a busy time around the Brookshire household, but the cause is well worth it and hundreds of other people will be walking from dusk till dawn on July 17 to help raise money to fight cancer too.

I will be walking in memory of my grandmother, Lois,Lois ps as well as in honor of many other family members and friends who are fighting this disease.

I have placed a donation button at the top of my left hand column and would appreciate anything you can give. I realize the economy is bad, but if you could even spare $1 or $5, every little bit helps.

Please be assured that all donations are tax deductible and that the American Cancer Society is a good steward of your money:

  • The American Cancer Society was founded in 1913 and is now the largest voluntary health organization in the world. To date, they have funded 38 Nobel Prize winners, which is the highest accolade of scientific achievement. The American Cancer Society and its researchers have contributed to most of the major cancer research breakthroughs of this century., including the Pap smear, mammogram, bone marrow transplant, radiation, chemotherapy treatment, and even the CAT scan. The American Cancer Society is second only to the federal government in total dollars spent on cancer research.
  • The American Cancer Society is the only organization to offer a call center where callers can reach a trained cancer information specialist 24 hours a day, seven days a week, toll-free at 1-800-ACS-2345. Check out their website at www.cancer.org to learn more about research, education, advocacy, and services. Your donation will provide support for lifesaving research as well as nationwide AND local initiatives and services.

Thank you in advance for your time and support!!

I'm going to be sponsoring my aunt (a breast cancer survivor) but I wanted to thank you for what you are doing to help fight this terrible disease. You're my hero!
