Christmas Festivities – take 1

Christmas around the Brookshire household is always chaotic to say the least. This year proved no different.

Not only is the day of Christmas packed with places to go, people to see, and presents to unwrap; but even in the days leading up to, we make sure our kiddos don’t ever have a chance to complain of boredom.

One evening, we (meaning me, the hubby, our two boys, my sister-in-law and her hubby and their two kids, my mother-in-law and father-in-law, and the hubby’s grandma – yes, we had to take the church van to fit our large crowd) drove down to Chickasha, Oklahoma. We ate at Jake’s Rib and then drove through the Festival of Light.chickasha 2 for web Chickasha for web

Then, the next evening, the boys and I decorated a gingerbread train.train for web

The boys were really OCD about having the train look exactly like the one on the box.train 2 for web

Then came Christmas Eve. After we ate a huge meal (I think I must have thought I was feeding an army) with Nana and Papa, christmas eve for web  we carried through with our usual traditions:

We wrote Santa some letters.jacks letter lux soft for webletters to Santa lux soft bw 75 splittone 100 for webthanks winter wash for web

And fixed the big man and his reindeer some snacks.10x10 crop for web

Then we read The Night Before Christmasthe night before christmas 4x6 crop for web and settled down for a long winter’s nap (well, the boys did anyway – daddy and I had to stay up and wait for Santa to come so that we could assemble all of those gifts he always drops off – santas been here for web why he can’t preassemble them is beyond me).

Love the pics! My favorite is the black and white of the boys.
You would think with all those elves everything would be assembled!

I know, why can't Santa do that? Thanks for the great pics (and laugh) too!

Oh my gosh. Jack with his sign.... that is too cute. And he is looking SO grown up lately. I can't take it. Not a baby at all! I love your pictures. They are just so heart touching. Really.
PS One year Kaishon got a gift that wasn't assembled and 2 years later...it STILL isn't over.

Love Chickisha lights! We didn't make it this year. I'm from OKC and was just TOO busy to get there! Your pics are fabulous - your kids adorable. Nice to meet another OK blogger1
