Flashback Friday

First off, I need to tell you what Jack said about last week's Flashback Friday post: "Mama, you were so little...(long pause)...and a boy!!" Gee, thanks, Jack (I hate to admit I actually did look like a boy in that picture...maybe they just didn't make big cute bows back in the olden days) : (

Anyway, on to this weeks post...

Facebook is an amazing thing! If you haven't joined yet, you are behind the times, my friend. Actually, I just joined this past spring and even that was only after a lot of convincing from friends and family. It all just felt too cheesy and "teenager-ish" (if such a word exists) - boy, was I wrong.

When I moved to Oklahoma in '97, I left behind many friends - friends that I, over-time, lost touch with. Because of technology and Facebook in particular, I have been able to reconnect with so many people I grew up with, rekindle old friendships, and share old memories.

One "group" that I belong to on Facebook happens to be the ice rink in which I skated at for 10 plus years. It is amazing (and often scary) some of the videos and photos this group of people has posted - talk about a blast from the past. Anyway, with all that on my mind, I decided to post one of the photos, taken in 1991, that I have from my time spent at the "Ice Chalet."

FYI - I am on the top row, fifth from the left.

I LOVE facebook too!! I'm so addicted to some of the games on there. LOL!

That's great that you are getting a chance to reconnect.

What a great picture!! And ya know, I had stayed away from Facebook/Myspace just because I thought it was too...well...like you said. But when I had Chase and his days and nights were screwed up, I started a Myspace page to pass the time. So now I have Myspace and Facebook. They are so great! I'll have to find ya on Facebook!! :) I tend to like Myspace better because I have learned how to make backgrounds for it and it gives me more to do! lol :)

Love the pic! So neat that you used to skate. Do you get to do it much here in Oklahoma?

Shawna - I coached skating in Edmond up until Jack was born. I miss most of it - although, having to be there at 4:45 am was a little rough : (

I joined Facebook this year, also. It has been good to reconnect with high school friends but I focus on my blog and don't do much with FAcebook.
