First of all, I want to thank everyone who left a comment last week. Your sentiments have been not only encouraging but helpful as well. Having made a statement of my lacking Photoshop, you all chirped in with recommendations from Lightroom and Elements to free programs like Picnik and Gimp.
I have been doing some research all week long and right now I feel as if I am leaning towards Lightroom. If you have used this program and liked it or even if you have used it and hated it, I would love to hear your reasons.
Anyway, onto this week's entry. I realize that the following photo is probably not one of my best; but when I saw that the theme for this week's i heart faces contest was "Joy" I couldn't think of anyone more joyful than my son Beau when he is eating. He is a little thing but man can he put it away. Seriously, you have never seen a kid eat more than this one. He is always the first one to the dinner table and the last one to leave; and he has yet to find a food he doesn't like.

How fun! I think it's great that JOY makes you think of your son eating. How sweet is that?!
I highly recommend Lightroom because it is SO user friendly, and once you buy it, there are so many free tools (presets) that you can easily download for some amazing results. I recommend downloading the 30 day trial to see how you like it. That's what I did....and I was hooked!
First of all, what a sweet face. Job well done.
With Lightroom, you would have so much fun with this picture and it would be so easy to make adjustments and such. Plus, I hear you won a fabulous book about Lightroom that some HOT blogger gave away in a contest by the Scott Kelby, someone geekier then me :). You're already set girl.

Great photo! Look at that smile and those big beautiful eyes
Adorable picture!!
I have Photoshop Elements. I love it. I am also wanting to get Lightroom. I think both can be very valuable. Since I don't have Lightroom I can't tell you which one would be more beneficial.
Great pick!

I love that one!!! :) How precious is that!!!
I'll admit I'm letting you do all the research, and whatever program you decide on, I am going to try!!! ;) I've been told about Gimp, but I never really looked into it at the time because of a lack of time, but I am tempted to look at the Lightroom and Gimp again. Be sure and blog about what one you decide on...

Those boys and their tummies! ;)
I am a huge fan of Photoshop and use it most of the time. However, Lightroom is wonderful as well and very user-friendly. If you have the funds to buy it, I'd say "go for it!" It will add so much fun to your photography.

He is so adorable! And that picture is great! Let me know what you decide becaue I can't figure out which one I want yet. It must be the second son thing, mine is the same way. I swear I don't know where that boy puts his food.
What a face! Gorgeous! And you know I like the messy ones!

I don't know what lightroom is. I am sorry I can't give you an educated opinion on it : ). I LOVE your picture. Very adorable and joyful!
Oh gosh, he looks soooo happy eating! What a great pic.
As for helping you decide, sorry I don't have any of those programs, but purchasing Lightroom has crossed my mind (it's just not in my budget)!
Be sure you blog which one you decide on!
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting on my blog! Your kind words were greatly appreciated!
Hugs & Blessings!
I can totally relate to this! My son Isaac is also full of joy when he eats :) Super cute photo!!
Okay, what kid does not get "happy" when they have food all over them. lol Great picture!
When you do decide and get something to enhance your pictures..watch out! It is a lot of fun. :)
Don't you just love babies with dirty faces? They make the best pictures.
I hear Lightroom is the way to go. I use Photoshop but I'm still learning. With Lightroom you can use presets and make adjustments with the click of a mouse.
Awww... I miss those days! What a happy baby!
Great Joy shot! What a cute little mess:-)
Sounds like either program would be good. I use Photoshop and haven't tried the others. Good luck!

That is so cute! I just love it when they have such messy faces. :)
This reminds me of when my son was so much younger and used to look like that alot of the time...food ALL OVER his face 'n' all! :)
Aren't little ones so cute with food all over themselves? Too bad we aren't as adults too... hee hee. Love the picture, and I am thinking about Lightroom too since Darcy mentioned it. Let me know what you discover, I am thinking about it too!!!
Ah! If only life was this good for everyone! Beauty!

I love a messy boy picture! And believe me I have a skinny little boy who eats like a horse. I am surprised his daycare provider doesn't charge me extra for the food he eats! Thanks for checking out my blog as well!
I love it! Meal time is such a happy time for little guys! I love the food all over his mouth...you can totally tell he loves food!
I think I am goign to go check out lightroom too! thanks for checking out my picture! Yours is darling!
I see your little man likes to have fun with his food too! That's a great pic.
What a CUTIE! Thank you for stopping by again and for your wonderful comments. :)
I would go for Photoshop because many of the actions you might want later on require Photoshop CS2 or higher to run. Right now I have only used elements (an old version) the new iphoto (do you have a MAC--highly recommend) and recently I discovered picnik--which is really fun and you can do some awesome things with it while you make your decision. I'm getting Photoshop CS4 (finally!) and I'm getting Kevin Kubota's Pro Pack (you must have photoshop to run these but it is AMAZING!) Okay those are my tips for now. I'll let you know more when I get my goodies! :)
Love this!!!
Those are some beautiful eyes!
How CUTE is he?!?! Love it!! What a sweetheart!
I LOVE Photoshop CS2! That's my favorite, but I have PS Elements 2, 4, and 5. LOL How sad is that...I collect them apparently.
Hey fellow Okie!
he's adorable.... what a great shot!
Great shot of a happy boy! Just precious.
