i heart faces - week 7 (kids and adults)

This week's theme over at i heart faces is Black and White.

The following two photos were taken over the holidays during our visit to New York. I love the expression on Beau's face in reaction to his first "real" snow - actually, I think he may just be freezing : )

And the picture of my sister reading "Twas the Night Before Christmas" to my son Jack melts my heart every time.

To see some really fantastic Black and White photos, or to join in yourself, head on over to i heart faces.

Those are two fabulous pictures! I especially love the interaction you caught in the one of your sister and Jack. Precious!

Oh, love Jack's expression in the first one, and some of my fave pics of kids are when they're bundled for winter and the cold colors their little cheeks! And the one of your sister and son is wonderful - love the lighting, and what a special moment to capture for a lifetime!

Thank you so much everyone. I am still trying to learn to be a better photographer and then on top of that trying to learn the ins and outs of post processing.

Tim - I used my free 30 day trial of Photoshop CS4 along with Pioneer Woman Actions and CoffeShop actions. Hope that helps!

Amazing. These are seriously amazing. Good work! And thanks for stopping by my blog...I hear I need to make some time to read those books...I'm heading to Florida in late April with my girlfriends, so maybe I'll start them then (if I can wait that long!). :)

I think we often forget to take pictures of the simple moments like an aunt reading a book to her nephew. When your little boy is all grown, I think he will really appreciate that you captured that moment.

I really enjoyed both pictures.

Fantastic entries! I really like the one of your sister and your son. Reading is such an important thing for youngsters and it is great when adults demonstrate that. And of course, what a classic?! They really look involved and your sister's expression is so loving.
